Looks, Sound and Feedback: 4.5/5

The DS-ADAPT X driver features a traditional 460cc profile, blending a classic appearance with modern design features. I loved the look of this driver at address, it really gave me confidence standing over the ball. Each shot I hit with the X model produced a solid, satisfying classic sound that offered clear auditory feedback on the quality of contact. I really liked the responsive feel, as the driver gave me enough feedback to differentiate between center and off-center strikes, promoting confidence in my swing.

Distance and Spin: 4.5/5

Built for balanced performance, the DS-ADAPT X delivers a high launch with moderate spin, ensuring impressive carry distances and consistent trajectories. The adaptive weighting allowed me to dial in spin and ball flight characteristics here, making it versatile enough to give me either a penetrating flight for low-spin power or a high-launch flight for added forgiveness and carry. The forged H.O.T. face insert enhances ball speed across the entire club face, ensuring reliable distance even on shots that don’t come out of the sweet spot.

Forgiveness and Control: 4/5

With its balanced front-back weighting, the DS-ADAPT X offers a unique blend of forgiveness and workability. Off-center shots that I hit with this driver head remained pretty stable and consistent in terms of direction, thanks to the high-MOI design aiding forgiveness. For players seeking a driver that can handle slight shot-shaping adjustments without sacrificing forgiveness, the X delivers versatility and control. Its forgiving nature makes it approachable for mid-to-high handicappers, while still appealing to better players looking for a dependable, easy-to-hit driver.

Cobra's FUTUREFIT33 Hosel

Technology and Components: 5/5

Packed with innovation, the DS-ADAPT X features adaptive weighting, enabling precise customization. The forward weight setting reduces spin for lower ball flights, while the back weight setting increases forgiveness and promotes higher launch for maximum carry. The FUTUREFIT33 hosel provides 33 loft and lie adjustments, allowing players to optimize launch conditions and shot shape to fit their game. The forged H.O.T. face insert ensures high ball speeds across the entire face, while advanced aerodynamics boost clubhead speed. Designed for performance and flexibility, the DS-ADAPT X combines modern tech with a classic design to deliver a driver that meets the needs of a wide range of players.

Alternative Options

If you’re looking for a more all-round forgiving driver then consider the Cobra DS-ADAPT MAX-K, which with it’s high MOI will help golfers that struggle with consistency or those with moderate swing speeds.
