What we say...
With Cobra’s DS-ADAPT drivers, golfers can expect more customization, better playability, and an extra boost of speed.
Cobra say that their DS-ADAPT family is the longest, most fittable range that they’ve ever produced, and once you get your head around the concept of their groundbreaking FUTUREFIT33 technology, it’s easy to see why it’s suitable for practically every golfer. You can read more about FUTUREFIT33 in detail in our handy everything you need to know guide.
The DS-ADAPT MAX-D driver is engineered for golfers who want to correct a slice while maintaining both speed and forgiveness. Featuring a heel-biased, low center of gravity, this driver promotes a draw-biased flight path, helping to straighten out shots and reduce slicing. This design makes it easier for players to improve accuracy and control, particularly for those who struggle with inconsistent ball flights.
For added stability, the driver includes a fixed heel weight, which enhances swing control and keeps the clubhead stable during impact. This feature provides a consistent feel and reliable performance, even on off-center hits. With its oversized head, the DS-ADAPT MAX-D driver strikes the ideal balance of speed and forgiveness. The larger head size expands the sweet spot, boosting ball speed and distance even on mishits. Perfect for golfers aiming to improve accuracy without sacrificing distance, this driver combines forgiveness, control, and consistent performance to help players elevate their game.
The DS-ADAPT range with the incredible FUTUREFIT33 are sure to become some of the best drivers of 2025.

Looks, Sound and Feedback: 4/5
The DS-ADAPT MAX-D driver features a 460cc oversized profile, which I felt gave a commanding presence at address, giving me confidence right from setup. It has a shallow face design optimized for higher launch, appealing to golfers with slower swing speeds, however I did prefer the deeper face of the ADAPT MAX-K head. At impact, the driver delivers a solid, satisfying sound, and the feedback is responsive. Even on off-center hits, the driver felt stable yet allowed me to feel the ball hadn’t come out of the center of the clubface. This helped me trust the club to deliver reliable results.
Distance and Spin: 4/5
The MAX-D driver is designed to combat slicing while maximizing distance. The heel-biased CG and draw-biased weighting actively reduce sidespin, resulting in straighter ball flights and increased carry distance. The low-spin configuration also ensures that players can achieve powerful drives without sacrificing distance. The driver’s enhanced slice correction helps golfers who struggle with accuracy while still offering strong performance off the tee. The combination of distance and spin control makes the MAX-D an excellent choice for players seeking more consistent drives.
Forgiveness and Control: 3.5/5
The MAX-D driver really does excel in forgiveness for those looking to correct their slice. The high MOI design and H.O.T. face technology ensure that even off-center hits still deliver impressive ball speeds, while its draw-bias weighting makes it easier for golfers to achieve straighter shots. I found the driver was forgiving on mishits and offered excellent control, however as I don’t have a natural slice, the head didn’t fully suit my swing. However, I can see how the technology and setup of the clubhead would help players with a severe left-to-right ball flight.
Technology and Components: 5/5
Equipped with H.O.T. face technology and the new FUTUREFIT33 hosel, the MAX-D driver optimizes ball speed across the face while giving the player 33 different loft and lie options to choose from. The heel-biased CG and draw-biased weighting work together to reduce spin, enhancing slice correction and helping golfers achieve a straighter ball flight. The high MOI design further boosts stability and forgiveness, allowing for more reliable and consistent performance. With the addition of Cobra’s new FUTUREFIT33 hosel, it’s hard to rate the DS-ADAPT MAX-D driver anything other than 5 out of 5 for this category.
Alternative Options
If you’re looking for a more all-round forgiving driver then consider the Cobra DS-ADAPT MAX-K, which with it’s high MOI will help golfers that struggle with consistency or those with moderate swing speeds.
