Everything you need to know about the new Cobra DS-ADAPT and DS-ADAPT MAX Irons

Cobra’s new DS-ADAPT irons aim to deliver maximum speed while enhancing playability and providing a perfect fit for every golfer.

Cobra, who have long since produced some of the best irons on the market, have announced DS-ADAPT, their 2025 range of incredibly innovative golf clubs, designed to be the most fittable ever produced. In addition to the brand new drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, the Cobra DS-ADAPT range also includes the DS-ADAPT irons and DS-ADAPT Max irons, game-changing clubs designed to improve performance for mid-to-high handicap golfers.

The Cobra DS-ADAPT irons are engineered for unmatched performance, leveraging advanced technologies to enhance speed, distance, and playability. At the core of their design is the hollow body construction, which increases flexibility in both the body and face, promoting higher launch and faster ball speeds. To complement this, foam microspheres are embedded within the hollow cavity, ensuring a soft feel and satisfying sound, even on off-center hits, for a more enjoyable playing experience.

Cobra DS-ADAPT Irons PWR-BRIDGE weighting system

Key to their performance is the PWR-BRIDGE weighting system, strategically lowering the center of gravity to create an ideal combination of increased distance and optimal high launch angles. The irons also feature a groundbreaking 360 Speedshell face – the largest face cup in Cobra’s history – which maximizes flex and speed across the entire hitting surface. Paired with Cobra’s H.O.T. (Highly Optimized Topology) Face Technology, the design delivers 23% more face flex, translating to greater ball speed, higher launch, and longer distance.

The DS-ADAPT irons feature innovative TECFLO™ Construction, employing progressive designs to meet the unique requirements of each shot. Long irons (4-7) are engineered for maximum speed and distance, utilizing foam-filled hollow construction to boost launch and ball speed on longer approach shots. Mid and short irons (8-PW) prioritize precision and control while maintaining exceptional distance.

The wedges are designed for traditional performance, providing enhanced versatility for short-game mastery. This seamless progression ensures optimal gapping, making it easier to achieve consistent results across the set. Packed with game-improving technology, these irons cater to golfers seeking balanced performance at every level.

Jose Miraflor, VP at Cobra Puma Golf, highlights this family as a breakthrough in performance and fitting, appealing to a broad range of players seeking maximum distance, forgiveness, and control. The DS-ADAPT irons redefine game-improvement clubs with cutting-edge innovation.

Cobra DS-ADAPT Max Irons

DS-ADAPT MAX Irons

RRP $999 steel, $1099 graphite / £799 steel, £899 graphite

The DS-ADAPT Max irons are engineered for higher handicappers who value forgiveness and draw bias. They feature an oversized shape with a longer blade, thicker topline, and wider sole, making it easier to achieve higher launches and improved ball-striking consistency. The 2-degree weaker lofts boost carry distance and enhance stopping power on approach shots, while the additional offset helps straighten ball flights and counteract slices.

Performance testing against the standard DS-ADAPT model showcases impressive results: a 1.6° higher launch, 550 RPM more spin, a 2.4-yard higher peak trajectory, a 2° steeper descent angle, and 8 yards of added draw bias, delivering a perfect blend of distance, accuracy, and shot correction.

Available in 4-SW or 5-GW configurations, players can further customize their set with a choice of KBS Tour Lite (steel) or KBS PGI (graphite) shafts, providing options for optimal feel and performance based on individual preferences.
