Sept28 Warren woe

After Marc Warren and Colin Montgomerie lost their opening Seve Trophy match on Thursday, the former thought he should get in some practice. But while swinging away in his hotel room, Warren sent a chandelier crashing to the ground and was forced into an unexpected hospital trip.
The Scot, who received cuts to his head, arms and stomach, was preparing to go for dinner with Welshman Bradley Dredge when he took an ill-advised swing with a five iron at the swanky Heritage resort in Laois.
“I looked in the mirror and I was covered in blood,” the 26-year-old told PA.
“A car took me to hospital and I had butterfly stitches in my cuts. I wish I had used a six iron; I’d have missed it,” quipped last season’s European Tour Rookie of the Year.
Despite the incident, Warren was fit to play in Friday’s matches.
