Hippo hex iron

By TG Equipment Editor

HiPPO has unveiled a new HEX iron to complement their HEX driver, fairway and rescue woods.

The HEX irons are a progressive set that uses utility woods to replace the long irons, hybrid irons for the mid-irons and cavity-back wide-soled short irons.

HiPPO say the HEX are their most forgiving set of irons ever. They’re particularly appeal to golfers who struggle to hit their long irons as the clever design behind the hexagonal-shaped utility woods pushes weight to the rear corners of the clubhead for added forgiveness.

The utilities also have a low centre of gravity making them easy to get airborne and feature HiPPO’s special CP4 shaft that helps increase clubhead speed for added distance.

The mid irons have a hollow design to help lower the centre of gravity, again making them really easy to launch. They also have a large sweetspot to help you hit more greens in regulation.

The 8-iron to sand wedge have an undercut cavity design coupled with a wide sole to make them incredibly easy to use from all lies. The cavity promotes forgiveness while allowing workability on those precise pitch shots.

The HEX irons will be in pro shops by March 2008 priced at £179.99 (4-SW steel); £199.99  (4-SW graphite).
