Nike equipment over the past couple of seasons has been all about pushing the boundaries of golf club design laid down by the games governing bodies. The Nike SasQuatch Sumo 5900 driver is their latest offering which will be launched in February next year is designed to reach the limits of size, dimensions and moi rules put into place by the USGA and R and A.
Yes you’ve guessed it’s got a square head but this time theNike SasQuatch Sumo 5900 an all titanium design which sounds better than previous models and Nike reckon it’s the complete driver package!
By making the golf club head in five different pieces and from a new type of stronger and lighter titanium the company have been able to design the golf club with thinner stronger side walls. Which means more weight is freed up to locate where its more effective. This extra discretionary weight has lead to the engineers nudging the golf club’s moi value up to the 5,900 g-cm rules limit. So expect the Nike SasQuatch Sumo 5900 to be one of the most forgiving drivers on the market next year, and as they’ve always proven powerful when tested by TG we reckon their well worth giving a smack.
If you want to get your hands on one you won’t find any in the shops until February, but if Nike have their way Mr Woods will have one in his hands before then, he’s already been testing the design. So keep a look out for the Nike SasQuatch Sumo 5900 appearing in the hands of Nike’s elite team of staff players over the coming months, then make sure you get out and try one for yourself in the New Year.
