Feb20 Burnerwoods
Last updated:
TaylorMade has unveiled new fairway woods and a rescue club as part of the reborn Burner brand.
Like the recently-launched Burner driver, the new clubs were developed for players who like to swing fast and hit the ball hard, high and long.
The Burner Steel fairway woods incorporate a large, classically-shaped steel clubhead that boasts the highest MOI (the time the ball stays on the clubface) of any fairway wood in golf. Compared to TaylorMade’s r7 Steel fairway woods, the Burner Steel’s MOI is a full 30% higher. A high MOI combines with a shallow clubface design and low, far-back centre of gravity to make it the clubs forgiving.
They also feature TaylorMade’s “SuperFast Technology”, which incorporates a light RE*AX graphite shaft and light grip to promote faster swing speed and faster ball speed for increased distance.
The woods are available in 3-wood (15°), 5-wood (18°) and 7-wood (21°). They’ll be in shops from April with an RRP of £139 (g) and £129 (s).
Burner Ti fairway woods feature an extra-large and bullet-shaped titanium head that’s shaped similarly to the head of the Burner driver, and which boasts the highest MOI of any TaylorMade titanium fairway wood. The Burner Ti’s high MOI, along with its low and far-back CG location, makes it easier to launch the ball high and long.
The titanium version will come as a 3-wood (15°), 5-wood (18°) and 7-wood (21°) from July with an RRP of £219 (g).
Finishing off the range is the Burner Rescue Hybrid, which has a steel clubhead that’s 7% larger than TaylorMade’s Rescue Dual hybrid. That promotes a high MOI for extra forgiveness.
It’s available in 3 (19°), 4 (22°), 5 (25°) and 6 (28°) from April with an RRP of £129 (g) and £119 (s).
