Phil Mickelson lifted the Players Championship last weekend with a bagful of Callaway’s latest gear! Mickelson’s two-stroke victory was the 31st win of his career and comes just three weeks after switching to new coach Butch Harmon.
Not many players use 14 clubs from the same manufacturer, but Callaway was delighted to see its new 2007 range is hitting the right buttons with all types of players. Mickelson teed it up with the company’s new FT-5 driver, an X Tour 13 degree fairway wood, two X Hybrids, the new X-Forged irons and X-Tour wedges.
Lob in the fact he also used a Callaway HX Tour golf ball and prototype Odyssey putter which Callaway owns and designs, and we’ve got to hand it to the American giants – it’s a clean sweep in lifting the fifth major!
