MD Golf is the latest company to jump on the square driver bandwagon.
The Superstrong EQL2 is a titanium-headed, 460cc, draw-biased driver. It comes with a choice of quality Grafalloy, UST and Aldila shafts, and lofts are limited to 10.5 and 12 degrees.
It’s made from Titanium – which is heavier than carbon-bodied drivers and could lead to a lower Moment of Inertia. That may mean that the clubhead will twist more at impact – which is bad!
Once we get our hands on one, we’ll test it and reveal all!
We can’t argue with the price, however. The EQL2 has a RRP of £119, although you may find them selling for £100. So if you have to try a square driver, but don’t want to fork out a bundle of cash, this is a bit of a bargain.
