The traditional stuffy image of golf could soon be a thing of the past if two golfing entrepreneurs have their way.

Sam Varney and Harry Green were so depressed by the boring clothing and ‘establishment’ behaviour of the average golfer that they decided to do something about it.

The pair established Dressed to a Tee – a golf clothing company that is all about injecting some fun into the sport.

“We wanted to start a golf clothing company that embodied our spirit and enthusiasm for the game”, said Sam. “We’ve both been playing golf for a number of years and have always been struck by the strict, if unspoken rules governing dress code. Golf’s reputation has suffered because of this. It’s our aim to make golf and golf clothing more fun, and in the process, more appealing to a much wider range of people.”

Though Sam and Harry knew nothing about clothing, they packed in their jobs as Marketing Graduate Trainees and set about designing a complete range of modern golf shirts and t-shirts themed around the ‘Swing East Tour’.

The Swing Easy Tour is made up of six legends of the game – Colonel Bogey, Lord Slider, Doctor Groove, Vicar Chipper, Lady Punch and Sister Swing. The players and the Swing Easy Tour are inspired by Sam and Harry’s friends and the golf tours they went on at university. The players endorse the clothing – which is all 100% organic cotton – as well as communicate the ethos and sense of humour that underpins dressed to a tee.
