Padraig Harrington remained upbeat despite suffering a double bogey at the 18th which meant he finished with a disappointing 2nd round 73.
The Irishman shrugged his last hole six aside, stressing: “There’s another 36 holes to go – one hole won’t affect the outcome of this tournament although obviously I don’t want to be too far adrift at this stage.”
Even so, it was a setback Harrington could well have done without and he knows full well he will have to be on top of his game this weekend if he is to emerge a serious contender.
