Groove Equipment Limited has launched the GEL Groove putter onto the UK market, the new putter further developing the ‘groovy’ revolutionary technology by introducing horizontal, precision-cut aluminium grooves.
Tim Orgill, sales and marketeing dircetor of GEL Golf, is confident the company have a winner on their hands, claiming: “We consulted numerous tour professionals which resulted in designing the GEL putters with larger, heavier and more balanced heads, encouraging an even smoother and more rhythmical putting stroke. The Groove putter will also generate even better topspin roll.”
GEL putters are created from 431 stainless steel with a black nickel finish and an aluminium putter face insert which is softer and more responsive than the steel face inserts of other groove putters. There’s six models in the GEL range with two putters coming in ladies and three in left-handed specifications.
And they are eye-catching in more ways than one – the mens putters have bright blue and yellow WINN grips with a blue face insert. They are expected to cost around the £100 mark.
