Golfers everywhere were shocked to see Zach Johnson win The US Masters but nobody could have been more speechless than our first week’s Fantasy League winner.
Victor Karpluch this weeks winner with 516 points couldn’t even remember his team when the Masters kicked off! He said “I tried logging onto the TG website to check, but realised I’d forgotten to confirm my password.”
TG office staffers and golfers across the UK had spent hours pouring over their perfect team for weeks before the event. Its unthinkable then, that somebody who didn’t even know who was in their team came through to win!
On making his selections Victor said “Initially I started with Tiger in my team, but with so little cash left I ended up picking players of much the same standard so it becomes a lottery! Instead I went for Retief Goosen as my banker as he always seems to be in the top ten. Then came Harrington who seems to do well for me. I have to admit to having no idea why Rory Sabbatini and Kenny Perry got into my squad. But as for my mate Zach well he seemed like one of the lesser lights who consistently appears on leaderboards so I thought a decent choice at reasonable money.”
For his winning selection Victor wins a pair of Hi-Tec V Lite shoes, he says “I just wish I’d put a £1 each way bet on the lot”.
