Stand Bags

Ping Hoofer 14 – £200
A perennial favourite of ours, because the hoofer just seems to do everything a walking golfer needs… and do it really well.
It’s light enough not to be a burden; it has loads of handy pockets which are always accessible; it’s durable, packed with features and for 2020 a re-engineered back puck makes it easier to convert to a single strap.
A 14-way divider is backed up by 11 pockets.
Sun Mountain H2NO Lite – £225
Sun Mountain don’t make balls or clubs, so they spend their whole time obsessing over the details of their golf bags.
This one weighs a barely believable 2.2kg, but is 100% waterproof – and that’s why it’s won.
Other details we like include the really comfortable strap and big pockets.
Big Max Aqua Hybrid 2 – £239
the Big Max could have slotted into the stand or trolley bag awards, as it does both equally well – and that’s why we love it.
If you want to walk nine holes on a summer’s evening, it’s a brilliant carry bag. But thanks to its flat base, it’s just as at home on a trolley.
Throw in a 14-way divider, seven pockets, air channel straps for breathability and waterproofing (Big Max say it can withstand 10,000mm of rainfall in a day without letting moisture in) and it’s a winner.
