Hit more accurate approach shots

So many times, amateur golfers will work out the yardage they have to the flag on approach shots and then choose the club that will make the distance but only if they hit their Sunday best.

A way to add control to your iron shots is to grip the club down slightly, swing the club at a smoother tempo and really try to hold the finish position. This should improve the consistency of your strike and distance control.
