If you want to hit long drives, you need to strike the ball out of the middle of the clubface every time.

A lot of amateurs, because of poor technique or flexibility, struggle to maintain the angles they create at set-up into impact. This makes it much harder to control delivering the clubhead back to the ball squarely and consistently.
