Tiger Woods ‘making progress’, hitting driver in Sunday red

Another day – another Tiger video. But this time, he’s hitting a driver and wearing his Sunday uniform of black and red.

In his third video update in the space of a week, Woods took to social media to share that he had progressed from wedge and iron shots to being able to hit drivers – in his Sunday red no less.

What does it mean? It means Tiger Woods officially lied to us a few weeks ago when he said he could only hit 60 yard shots at the President’s Cup. And yet, considering that he did say he could forsee a scenario where he doesn’t come back to competitive golf – we aren’t going to get too far ahead of ourselves.

After all, we’ve been on this particular merry-go-round before… and last year it started with a return at the Hero Challenge (carding the most birdies and bogeys of the week to get us all excited) followed by a missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open and WD from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic ending his year.

He’s got some new clubs in the bag too, and it certainly looks like he’s gearing up for a return – we just hope he takes his time. But after four back surgeries, we can definitely enjoy watching Tiger hit one with the big stick.

Tiger’s video updates

At the end of August the first video appeared, as Tiger announced that his doctor had given him the ok to start pitching.

This was followed by the first of three posts in a week in October, first showing he was hitting ‘smooth iron shots’….

… and three days later posting videos of him hosting a clinic with Kevin Chappell during his Tiger Woods Invitational clinic at Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
