Tiger shows off the stinger is his latest swing video

Tiger Woods posts ‘return of the stinger’ swing video for first update since being cleared to play again by the doctor last week.
Another week, another slow-mo swing update. But one thing is for certain: Tiger Woods is very keen to play golf again. The latest ‘stinger’ video is the fifth in a series of recent swing updates Woods has posted in the space of a month.
The latest update comes after last week’s news that he had been cleared by the doctor to resume ‘full golf activity’ as the 14-time major champion bids to comeback from his fourth back surgery and showcases one of his signiature shots.

“He got a nice report and is allowed to proceed,” Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg had said in a statement last week. “He can do as much as he needs to do. Tiger is going to take this very, very slowly. This is good, but he plans to do it the right way.”
Tiger’s first video update was of him hitting a pitch shot on August 31, which was then followed by “smooth iron shots” on October 7th, a video of him hitting iron shots at a golf clinic with Kevin Chapell on October 10th, and a full-swing driver which he titled ‘Making Progress’ on October 15th.
Does it mean he’s making a comeback sooner than we think? Last December, Woods made a comeback at the small-field invitational Hero World Challenge event to benefit his foundation, and it’s not unfeasable that if his game and health allowed, he could still enter this December’s edition.
However, since then he has played just twice – missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open before being forced to withdraw with back spasms from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. It turned out to be more serious than first thought, as Woods ended up needed his fourth back surgery.
Given that he’s played just six competitive rounds in the past two years while trying to recover from his multiple back surgeries, we’re still being cautious when it comes to speculating about his return- particularly given that he’s not announced one yet.
