Watch as Tiger Woods hits shots during golf clinic with Kevin Chappell and shows off a vintage club twirl
Tiger Woods has been a lot more active since he told the press during the Presidents Cup that he was only hitting 60 yard shots.
Yesterday was his second post in the space of three days – but even better was the video taken by one eagle-eyed golfer who caught a vintage club twirl from the 14 time major champion. And the swing didn’t look half bad either!
Woods also took to social media yesterday to thank Kevin Chappell for accompanying him to his Tiger Woods Invitational clinic at Monterey Peninsula Country Club – where he posted this videos of his swing.
Just a couple of days earlier Woods had shown a video of himself hitting ‘smooth iron shots’ (below), and at the end of August announced that his Dr had given him the OK to start chipping again.
So what does this all mean? For Tiger to be posting two videos in the space of three days he’s clearly a lot happier with where his swing is – but he’s still not hitting any drivers (that he’s shown us anyway). And despite the excitement these videos may drum up, there’s definitely no point getting ahead of ourselves.
Just two weeks ago Woods admitted at The Presidents Cup he could ‘definitely’ forsee a scenario in which he won’t return to professional golf.
“Yeah, definitely,” Woods said when asked the question in September. “I don’t know what my future holds for me. As I’ve told you guys, I’m hitting 60-yard shots.”
“I’ve been out of the game for a while,” Woods had said. “First thing’s first: Get my health organized. Make sure the pain goes away. Then, basically, just as I said, just keep waiting for what my surgeon says. I’ve given you guys the updates on what I can do as I progress, and that’s all I’m doing. I’m still training. I’m getting stronger. But I certainly don’t have my golf muscles trained because obviously I’m not doing anything golf related.”
For now, we’re just going to keep an eye out for more videos and club twirls.
