When will Tiger Woods play next? That’s the question you’re asking and we’ve got the answer.
The GOAT remains golf’s biggest draw, but given his limited playing schedule, there are not so many opportunities to see the 15-time major champion in action.
Jump To: Upcoming Schedule
The 49-year-old has been forced to revert to a part-time playing schedule since an almost fatal car crash in February 2021, revealing that he requires “a cold plunge, every day, religiously” just to prepare his body for playing a once-monthly tournament schedule.
It was not a fruitful 2024 for Woods. After a ‘deflating’ start to the year that saw his TGL indoor golf league venture with co-founder Rory McIlroy pushed back 12 months, Woods’ post-Nike era launched at the Genesis Invitational in February.
Donned in a new shade of Sun Day Red, Tiger managed just 24 holes at Riviera before succumbing to the flu.
April saw a brief upturn in fortunes for Tiger who rolled back the years in challenging conditions with rounds of 73 and 72 to make a record-breaking 24th consecutive cut at Augusta National.
Unfortunately, though, that was about as good as it got for the season. Rounds of 82 and 77 followed as he ran out of steam, finishing dead last on 16-over-par.
Subsequent missed cuts followed at the PGA Championship and US Open, prompting some to question whether the GOAT had passed his sell-by date on the game’s biggest stages.
Tiger, however, insisted: “I’ll play as long as I can play and I feel like I can still win the event.”
And while a 14-over finish at Royal Troon in The Open did little to justify those convictions, many of the world’s best were left looking rather silly in the South Ayrshire gusts that week.
That marked the last competitive tournament of 2024 for Tiger who was back on the operating table in September to undergo more surgery on his back.
All going well, 2025 looks set to be more plentiful for seeing Tiger in full swing having been awarded a ‘Lifetime Achievement Exemption’ by the PGA Tour, meaning he can tee it up at the eight limited-field Signature Events.
He was also quick to confirm following his Open exit that he will be returning to Royal Portrush in 2025.
Before all that though, there is the small matter of the inaugural TGL season where Woods will lead out his Jupiter Links GC franchise as golf takes brave new footsteps into the virtual world of competitive golf simulation.
Here’s when and where we expect to see the GOAT in 2025…
Tiger Woods schedule
Woods is yet to officially commit to any upcoming PGA Tour events or majors.
His Jupiter Links TGL team will play five “regular season” matches between January and March, then more if they qualify for the next stages of the competition.
Jupiter Links TGL fixtures:
January 27: Jupiter Links vs Boston Common
February 18: Jupiter Links vs New York
February 25: Jupiter Links vs The Bay
March 4: Jupiter Links vs Atlanta Drive
Jupiter Links TGL results:
Jupiter Links 1-12 Los Angeles
Exemptions
Tiger Woods enjoys lifetime exemption into the Masters and PGA Championship, while The Open allows its champions to compete up to the age of 60. However, his US Open exemption expired in 2023, and he competed at Pinehurst in 2024 thanks to a USGA invite.
In 2024, Woods was also granted a ‘Lifetime Achievement Exemption’ by the PGA Tour, permitting him a place in the field for all Signature Events.
