When will Tiger Woods play next? If that’s the question you’re asking, we have the answer.

The GOAT remains golf’s biggest draw, but given his limited playing schedule, there are not so many opportunities to see the 15-time major champion in action.

JUMP TO: Tiger Woods’ upcoming schedule

The 49-year-old has been forced to revert to a part-time playing schedule since an almost fatal car crash in February 2021, revealing that he requires “a cold plunge, every day, religiously” just to prepare his body for playing even just once a month.

It was not a fruitful 2024 for Woods. After a ‘deflating’ start to the year that saw his TGL indoor golf league venture with co-founder Rory McIlroy pushed back 12 months, Woods’ post-Nike era launched at the Genesis Invitational in February.

Donned in a new shade of Sun Day Red, Tiger managed just 24 holes at Riviera before succumbing to the flu.

Tiger Woods was forced to withdraw from the Genesis Invitational with flu.

April saw a brief upturn in fortunes for Woods, who rolled back the years in challenging conditions with rounds of 73 and 72 to make a record-breaking 24th consecutive cut at Augusta National.

Unfortunately, though, that was about as good as it got for the season. Rounds of 82 and 77 followed as he ran out of steam, finishing dead last on 16-over-par.

Subsequent missed cuts followed at the PGA Championship and US Open, prompting some to question whether the GOAT had passed his sell-by date on the game’s biggest stages.

Tiger Woods falls short at the 2024 US Open

Woods, however, insisted: “I’ll play as long as I can play and I feel like I can still win the event.”

And while a 14-over finish at Royal Troon in The Open did little to justify those convictions, many of the world’s best were left looking rather silly in the South Ayrshire gusts that week.

That marked the last competitive tournament of 2024 for Tiger who was back on the operating table in September to undergo more surgery on his back.

All going well, 2025 looks set to be more plentiful for seeing Tiger in full swing having been awarded a ‘Lifetime Achievement Exemption’ by the PGA Tour, meaning he can tee it up at the eight limited-field Signature Events.

Tiger Woods has been granted a special exemption to play in all of the PGA Tour's Signature Events from 2025.

He was also quick to confirm following his Open exit that he will be returning to Royal Portrush in 2025.

Before all that though, there is the small matter of the inaugural TGL season where Woods will lead out his Jupiter Links GC franchise as golf takes brave new footsteps into the virtual world of competitive golf simulation.

Here’s when and where we expect to see the GOAT in 2025…

Tiger Woods schedule 2025

Tiger Woods was set to make his first appearance of the season at the Genesis Invitational before withdrawing following the death of his mother.

“I planned to tee it up this week, but I’m just not ready,” he explained. “I did my best to prepare, knowing it’s what my mom would have wanted, but I’m still processing her loss. Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I hope to be at Torrey later in the week and appreciate the continued kindness since my mom’s passing.”

He did, however, turn up at Torrey Pines on Sunday to present Ludvig Aberg with his second PGA Tour trophy.

Woods also spent some time in the commentary booth, in which he revealed he will “look to play some of the bigger events” going forward, but he didn’t put his name down for the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, or the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. (Though that shouldn’t be a surprise given what he said earlier in the week.)

He has, however, played in all of Jupiter Links’ regular season TGL matches – including a defeat to New York that included what Woods described as “the most embarrassing moment of my golfing career” – and the 18-hole Seminole Pro-Member alongside former PGA of America chief Seth Waugh.

PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and the majors

It is unlikely Tiger Woods will tee up in 2025 after the 15-time major champion revealed that he has undergone yet more surgery after hurting himself in his Jupiter home.

TGL

His Jupiter Links TGL team played five regular season matches between January and March, but failed to reach the playoffs.

Exemptions

Tiger Woods enjoys lifetime exemption into the Masters and PGA Championship, while The Open allows its champions to compete up to the age of 60. However, his US Open exemption expired in 2023, and he competed at Pinehurst in 2024 thanks to a USGA invite.

In 2024, Woods was also granted a ‘Lifetime Achievement Exemption’ by the PGA Tour, permitting him a place in the field for all Signature Events.
