Tiger and Timberlake get the green light for new St Andrews sports bar

Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake have a site approved at the ‘home of golf’ for their second T-Squared Social location.

Back in October, Tiger Woods and pal Justin Timberlake announced plans to bring their ‘T-Squared Social’ luxury sports bar concept to the home of Golf. They proposed taking over an old cinema building, the New Picture House on North Street, and converting it into a luxury facility featuring state-of-the-art golf simulators, darts, drinks and dining options, all while preserving at least one cinema screen to show sporting events.

This isn’t the pair’s first foray into the world of sports bars, though. The maiden T-Squared Social location opened in Manhattan, New York, in September 2023. The idea came to them after a round of golf in the Bahamas one day, where they were discussing how to combine their passions into business projects.

Plans for the project were initially met with backlash from locals, with over 10,000 people signing a petition against the addition of an entertainment venue just 700 yards from The Old Course.

Fife Council have now approved the development, granting planning permission to real estate company Nexus Luxury Collection, of which Woods and Timberlake are shareholders. The project is set to create up to 45 new jobs, and allow both locals and tourists to experience a range of dining and entertainment offerings.

Christopher Anand, CEO and managing partner of Nexus Luxury Collection, said: “We are taking great care to preserve and celebrate the historic architecture and design of the theatre and continue its tradition of showcasing great films.”

We don’t have any proposed timelines yet, but under the planning rules, work must begin within three years.
