The PGA Tour have suspended Wesley Bryan from participating in their events after playing in the LIV Golf ‘The Duels’ event. Six-time major champion and 45-time winner of the PGA Tour, Phil Mickelson, has called out the PGA Tour for their actions.

Wesley Bryan has been ‘suspended indefinitely’ from playing in PGA Tour events because of his involvement in LIV Golf’s ‘The Duels: Miami’ event.

LIV Golf’s High Flyer’s GC Captain, Phil Mickelson, has expressed his dismay at the verdict. The six-time major champion has asked for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to intervene.

“PGA Tour blatantly admits they are illegally banning an independent contractor, so why doesn’t the DOJ step in and enforce the law?… DOJ do your f***ing job!” Mickelson said on X.

The irony is, Wesley Bryan wasn’t playing in ‘The Duels’ event as a PGA Tour player, but as a content creator. The 2017 RBC Heritage Champion runs and hosts a YouTube channel alongside his brother, George Bryan.

The Bryan Bros were playing in ‘The Duels: Miami’ alongside other content creators, including Fat Perez, Luke Kwon, Rick Shiels, and Grant Horvat. Wesley Bryan teamed up with 4Aces GC Captain Dustin Johnson.

The $250,000 prize money was won by George Bryan and Fireballs GC Captain Sergio Garcia. The pair emerged victorious in a playoff over Kwon and his partner, RangeGoats GC Captain, Bubba Watson.

‘The Duels: Miami’ was broadcast on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel, and it has surpassed two million views.

Speaking to MondayQ, Bryan said the following, “No, I don’t have regrets. That video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf.

“We are going to continue to support Grant and grow the game through YouTube.”

Although the 35-year-old doesn’t regret his decision to play in LIV Golf’s ‘The Duel: Miami’, he has expressed gratitude for his career on the PGA Tour.

“For the last eight or nine years, the opportunities have been amazing.

“I’m extremely grateful to the Tour for that. I don’t want this to be the end of my professional golf career.”

To rub salt in Wesley’s wounds, Grant Horvat has been invited to play in a PGA Tour event – The Barracuda Championship.
