BMW Championship 2024: Prize money payout as Ryder Cup captain Bradley makes statement win

How was the purse at the BMW Championship for the second PGA Tour playoff distributed at Castle Pines?
Keegan Bradley’s quietly impressive resume just got a little louder after the recently announced USA Ryder Cup captain won the second FedEx Cup playoff event at the BMW Championship.
Finishing 12-under, Bradley’s one-shot victory from Sam Burns, Ludvig Aberg, and Adam Scott was a seventh PGA Tour victory for the last man in the field in Colorado, sneaking in just ahead of Tom Kim in 50th place by 17 points.
The win propels Bradley 46 places to fourth in the FedExCup standings, earning him a 6-under start on the leaderboard before a ball is even struck at the Tour Championship later this week. Only Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, and Hideki Matsuyama will start ahead in Atlanta’s showpiece event where 30 players compete for the $25 million jackpot.
A soaring 5-iron from the fairway to 16 feet at the par-5 17th was the defining moment of the tournament for Bradley, giving the 38-year-old from Vermont a two-shot lead going into the last.
“That 5-iron was as pure of a golf shot as I’ve ever hit, said Bradley. “
I was aiming at the tongue of the bunker, and I hit it right there. It’s one of those moments when you realize you can hit these shots in contention when it matters most, and to be able to pull that shot off – I mean, for me that was the shot of the tournament and a shot that I’ll remember forever.”
It afforded him the luxury of three-putting for a bogey on the last for a timely return to the winner’s circle, and few will be surprised to see Bradley continue his momentum into the Tour Championship, especially being buoyed around East Lake by chants of ‘USA…USA…’
Here is how the $20 million purse was distributed…
