LIV Golf Riyadh 2025: Season 4 tees off under the lights in Saudi capital
Last updated:
Riyadh Golf Club will host LIV Golf’s inaugural night tournament as the breakaway tour returns for its season-opening event.
LIV Golf will make its debut under the lights in the Saudi capital after three successive seasons at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club on the outskirts of Jeddah.
But that’s not the only shake-up to proceedings as LIV Golf prepares to embark on a fourth season. It’s all change at the top with polarizing commissioner Greg Norman making way for new CEO Scott O’Neil. The Australian two-time Open champion was announced this week as an independent director on the board of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games organizing committee.
There’s plenty of change among the pack too, most notably with Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin ignoring Rory McIlroy’s advice to fill the vacant place in the Jon Rahm-fronted Legion XIII roster.
And then there was the equal worst-kept secret that golf’s biggest YouTuber Rick Shiels has signed with LIV Golf as an official ambassador and content creator, bringing with him popular series from his channel including ‘Break 75′ and the ’10-Shot Challenge’, where he starts at 10-under par and attempts to beat the tour’s best over 18 holes.
Aside from that, it’s back to business as usual for season 4, with 13 teams of four players vying for points across a 14-event schedule, culminating in the Team Championship, held this year at The Cardinal at Saint John’s – Michigan. Here’s how the teams are fixed going into 2025:
