2025 LIV Golf Miami preview: Masters fever builds as 12 stars sharpen up for Augusta
Last updated:

The Saudi-backed tour returns for its fifth event as golf’s warring tours prepare to reunite at Augusta National.
LIV Golf returns to Miami for a fourth consecutive year, where Doral’s famed Blue Monster becomes the first golf course to host LIV Golf tournaments in each of the first four seasons.
Stinger GC’s Dean Burmester defeated Fireballs GC captain Sergio Garcia in a playoff last time around, while Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII took the team title after pipping RangeGoats GC by a shot.

Twelve of LIV’s 54-player roster will head to Augusta National next week, comprised of seven Masters champions – Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed, and Charl Schwartzel.
Joining them in search of a first green jacket will be recent major winners Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Cameron Smith, along with special invite Joaquin Niemann and Tyrrell Hatton, who registered a top-10 finish last year.
Speaking ahead of the Miami event, 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia said, “Miami is good preparation for Augusta. There’s nothing better than competition to get ready for a major.”
