Everything you need to know ahead of LIV Golf Adelaide.

LIV Golf Adelaide is back, featuring the showpiece ‘Watering Hole’.

Australia has taken to LIV Golf more than any other country with 94,000 tickets sold for last year’s LIV Golf Adelaide, over double the attendance of the tour’s second most popular event.

The reason is simple. Australia isn’t well-served by traditional tour golf, so LIV has provided the best chance for Aussie golf fans to watch some of the world’s best players in live action.

It also helps that Brisbane-born Cameron Smith was one of LIV Golf’s biggest signings to date. The 30-year-old joined golf’s breakaway tour shortly after his 2022 Open Championship victory, which took him to second in the Official World Golf Rankings.

There’s also the small fact that LIV Golf Adelaide features its own version of the famous 16th ‘Colesium’ hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The par-3 12th is surrounded by marquees and ‘sky boxes’, with players cheered for hitting the green, booed for missing it, and plastic beer cups raining down onto the tee regardless. It’s known as the ‘Watering Hole’ for a reason!

Last year delivered fans a fairytale victory as the Aussie quartet of Smith, Leishman, Jones, and Herbert prevailed in the tour’s first-ever team playoff over Stinger GC, triggering frenzied celebrations and even a ‘shoey’ from LIV’s Aussie-born CEO and commissioner Greg Norman.
