Investec South African Open: Field, tee times, and groups for the National Open

The DP World Tour’s Opening Swing continues in South Africa, but will a sixth consecutive South African lift the trophy?

The South African Open is one of the oldest National golf championships in the world, dating back to 1903. It remains one of the most prestigious events on the South-African-based Sunshine Tour and is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour, kicking straight back into action for its revamped 2024 season.

Thriston Lawrence won by a stroke last time round, becoming the fifth consecutive South African winner of the title, extending a run that included victories for Branden Grace and Louis Oosthuizen.

Gary Player is the most prolific champion in the tournament’s history, winning on 13 occasions, with Ernie Els lifting the trophy five times.
