DP World Tour Championship 2024: Prize Money Payout
Published:
How much of the $10 million prize fund will the winner of the DP World Tour Championship be taking home?
The stage is set for the final showdown of the 2024 DP World Tour season. The top 50 in the Race to Dubai rankings will battle it out at the DP World Tour Championship for a share of $10m!
The winner on Sunday will be awarded with a 30% share of the total prize fund – $3m. Also, the champion will receive 2,000 Race to Dubai points and 2,000 Ryder Cup points which will provide added incentive to those Europeans with aspirations of making Luke Donald’s team for Bethpage Black.
Last year’s winner of the DP World Tour Championship, Nicolai Højgaard, isn’t in the field this year to defend his title. Even though the Dane added 2,000 R2D points it was mathematically impossible for him to catch the 2023 Race to Dubai champion, Rory McIlroy.
The Northern Irishman has one challenger this season, Thirston Lawrence, who is 1,785.02 points behind McIlroy heading into the season finale. It seems an almost foregone conclusion that McIlroy will add a sixth Race to Dubai title to his achievements.
Although the race for the Harry Vardon trophy appears to be all but over, there’s plenty to play for this week. The top 10 DP World Tour members on the final 2024 Race to Dubai Rankings (not otherwise exempt) will earn a PGA Tour card, becoming dual members for the 2025 season.
Below is a breakdown of how the prize money will be shared among the 50 players teeing it up in the DP World Tour Championship based on percentages awarded to golfers finishing in those positions in recent years.
