Two of the most iconic brands in golf are teaming up as part of a landmark agreement for 2025
Five days after announcing a new equipment partnership with Jon Rahm and his LIV Golf team, Legion XIII, Callaway Golf have struck another major deal by agreeing to sponsor several of the sport’s biggest events across the men’s and women’s game on Sky Sports Golf.
The multi-platform partnership, which begins this week with the Players Championship, will see Callaway co-sponsor the Masters, PGA Championship and US Open, in addition to four of the five majors in the women’s game.
Key events on the LPGA and Ladies European Tour are also included as part of the landmark agreement, which is said to include linear co-sponsorship, digital advertising, sponsorship of the Sky Sports Golf podcast, fan giveaways, and collaborative events around key moments in the 2025 golfing calendar.
Jason Wessely, Director of Sky Sports Golf, said: “Sky Sports is very proud to be joined by Callaway, a leader in the golfing equipment industry, and a brand which is aligned with Sky Sports’ ambitions to enhance the viewing and playing experience for fans across the UK and beyond. It’s an exciting time as Sky continue to push our digital and non-live content, and Callaway is the natural fit to partner with.”
Chris Gregg, Marketing Director at Callaway Golf, added: “Sky Sports is a leader in golf coverage and this partnership allows us to bring golfers closer to the action during major golf events, while championing equal golf.
“With exclusive content and insider access our partnership will elevate how new and traditional fans experience golf, aligning perfectly with our mission to help seasoned and emerging golfers enjoy the game. We have exciting plans in place to engage fans and look forward to bringing this partnership to life!”
The collaboration, which also encompasses the sponsorship of The Open’s non-live content, comes less than a week after Callaway became the first manufacturer to cut an equipment deal with a LIV Golf team.
It means their footprint now extends across all of golf’s major circuits, most notably the PGA Tour, where 20 of their staffers are set to be in action during the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass this week.
You can watch the tournament live and exclusively on Sky Sports, from March 13-16.
