Bubba Watson makes utterly ludicrous claim about Tiger Woods

The Tiger Woods vs Scottie Scheffler debate has reignited thanks to Bubba Watson, and his choice of words was interesting to say the least…
It’s really difficult not to like Bubba Watson. He has an infectious personality, he’s a devoted family man, and he wears his heart, as they say, on his sleeve.
The problem is that often leads to the two-time Masters champion putting his size 13 G-Fores firmly in his mouth.
In an interview with Golf.com, Watson was discussing Scottie Scheffler’s remarkable 2024 season alongside his former caddie and good friend Ted Scott when he dropped an all-timer.
“I know Tiger did some stuff in 2000, but Scottie’s year was the best we’ve ever seen.”
Just going to pop that in again so you don’t think we’ve made a mistake.
“I know Tiger did some stuff in 2000.”
“Did some stuff” is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting there.
(Other athletes who “did some stuff” include Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Serena Williams, and Usain Bolt.)
Here’s the clip, just so you know we’re not making it up…
Watson’s reasoning for picking Scheffler over Woods was better competition. Though the likes of Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh might have something to say about that.
Now we’re not going to sit here and say Scheffler’s 2024 wasn’t remarkable – it really was – but Woods won nine times in 2000 compared to Scheffler’s seven, and two of Woods’ major victories included that 15-shot win at the US Open – a record that will never be beaten – and an eight-shot win at St Andrews.
Just look at this run of results: 10, 1, 1, T2, T18, 2, 1, 2, 5, T4, 1, 1, T23, 1, T11, 1, 1, 1, 3, 2, T5, 2, 1. Insane. And this was off the back if winning seven of his last 10 starts in ’99, too.
Now let’s never talk of this again.
