He’s the man tasked with taming one of the most experimental players in golf. But who is Bryson DeChambeau’s coach?
The Mad Scientist does things very much his own way, from using one-length irons to testing his golf balls in Epsom salt – but who is Bryson DeChambeau’s coach?
His golf swing is no different. He has one of the most recognisable motions in all of golf and has been through a few coaches in his career.
However, he is currently working with Dana Dahlquist.
Dahlquist is one of the most renowned instructors in the United States and works with pros and amateurs alike.
His background is in mechanics but his ultimate goal is to help golfers understand their swing DNA and create functional match-ups to help individuals play their best more often.
What’s in Bryson DeChambeau’s bag?
Who is Bryson DeChambeau’s caddie?
Who is Bryson DeChambeau’s girlfriend?
There is no doubt he has done a tremendous job with DeChambeau, who was struggling on the LIV Golf circuit before hiring Dahlquist.
In 2024, DeChambeau enjoyed a stellar major season, finishing in a tie for sixth at the Masters, second at the PGA Championship before famously edging Rory McIlroy at Pinehurst to lift his second US Open title.
As well as being one of the game’s biggest stars, he is now undoubtedly one of the best players in the world.
The Incredible Bulk
Before working with Dahlquist, DeChambeau underwent an incredible physical transformation.
In the off-season at the end of 2019, DeChambeau packed on the pounds in an effort to become one of the longest hitters.
He returned in 2020 and looked like a different person.
It paid off initially as he won the 2020 US Open by six shots at Winged Foot but two years later, he admitted it was a mistake and slimmed down again.
During that time he worked with swing coach Chris Como but he returned to Schy in 2023.
That didn’t work out and the pair split on bad terms before DeChambeau turned to Dahlquist.
