The DP World Tour returns to Scotland this week with the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. How much money is on offer for the tournament, and how will it be distributed?
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is set to begin on Thursday, 3rd October. This prestigious event will take place across three renowned courses: St Andrews Old Course, Carnoustie Championship Course, and Kingsbarns.
A field of 168 professional golfers will be joined by 168 celebrities and amateurs for the first three rounds, with each group competing on a different course each day. Following the cut on Saturday evening, the final round will be held at the Old Course, where both the individual and team champions will be determined.
The prize fund for the 2024 tournament is $4.8m, which is one of the highest money pots on the DP World Tour. The winner will take home a cheque for $816k along with 5,000 Race to Dubai points, and 1,500 Ryder Cup points for those aiming to make the teams heading to compete at Bethpage Black next September.
The prize fund has seen no increase, as of yet, on 2023’s total of $4.8m. Last year saw an increase of $200,000 on the 2022 tournament, and England’s Matt Fitzpatrick took home the winners share.
