The European Tour heads to the Netherlands this week for the 100th edition of the KLM Open to a brand new venue, The International in Amsterdam.
Last year, Ashun Wu claimed a one stroke victory over Chris Wood to claim his third European Tour title. He returns this week, along with a string of former champions that include Joost Luiten, Martin Kaymer and Thomas Pieters, who recently won the D+D Czech Masters.
Also in the star-studded field are major champions Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia, but who should you back this week?

Patrick Reed: 15/2
Making his KLM Open debut this week after a T36 at the Porsche European Open, which as his worst finish since May. Has a victory and two other top 10s in that time, including a T9 at the Tour Championship. Ranked 14th SG: around the green and 21st Scoring average on PGA Tour last season
Thomas Pieters: 14/1
Picked up his first win in three years a few weeks ago at the D+D Real Czech Masters and has since finished T12 in Switzerland and T20 in Hamburg. Won this event in 2015 – which was the last time he played it. Ranks 3rd SG: Tee to green, 6th SG: Off the tee, 11th birdies, 12th SG: Approach and 19th scoring.
Joost Luiten: 14/1
Two time KLM Open champion (’16,’13), and heads to Amsterdam after a T23 at the Omega European Masters. Began the year well before a dip in form over the summer but has gone T32-T29-T23 in his last three starts. Ranks 2nd SG: Tee to green, 6th SG: Approach and 15th SG: Off the tee.
Martin Kaymer: 16/1
The 2010 champion is making his first start on the European Tour since going T9-T20 at the Irish and Scottish Opens, and has played just two events in the US since (T31 at the Barracuda Championship and MC at the Wyndham a month ago). T15 last year. Ranks inside the top 10 on the European Tour for GIR (1st), scoring (8th), birdies (9th), SG: Tee to green (4th) and SG: Approach (10th).
Mike Lorenzo Vera: 16/1
Lorenzo Vera was T6 in his last start at the Omega European Masters, which was his fourth top 10 in his last seven starts. Still searching for his maiden European Tour victory (has finished 2nd twice this year), with a best finish in the KLM Open of T8 (’16). Ranks 14th scoring average, 16th SG: Approach, 17th SG: Putting 21st for birdies and 35th SG: Tee to green on European Tour.
Thomas Detry: 22/1
Back to back T20s in Sweden and Germany before this year’s KLM Open, where he finished T3 last year. Another player looking to win for the first time this week. Ranks 13th for birdies, 15th SG: Putting, 17th SG: Approach and 18th scoring.
Gavin Green: 30/1
T12 last week at the Omega European Masters after a T16 at the Scandinavian Invitation, displaying signs of the same form that saw him record three top 10s in four starts at the Belgian Knockout, Andalucia Masters and ASI Scottish Open. Ranks 6th GIR, 12th for birdies, 13th SG: Off the green, 21st SG: Putting and 26th Scoring.
