The European Tour returns this week for the Made in Denmark. Find out how to watch the event in the UK, and who to back.
After a T3 at the US PGA and a runner-up finish at the British Masters, Matt Wallace returns to Denmark to defend this week as plenty of the Tour’s top players make the same trip back over from New York.
Last year, the now World No.25 Wallace claimed his third European Tour title after beating out Lee Westwood, Steven Brown and Johnathon Thompson in a four-man play-off at Silkeborg Ry Golfklub.
It was the first time the event had been staged at Silkeborg – due to it being Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjorn’s home course – but will return back to Himmerland Golf Club this year, which was the traditional host of the tournament since its debut on the circut in 2014.
“Expectations are good,” Wallace said of his hopes this week. “I try not to think about how I want to perform or how I want to win the tournament. I try to lower my expectations as much as possible. I just do what I need to do. I need to prepare as best as I can.
“This is the first time coming out to defend a tournament. It’s nice to come to a tournament that you know that you’ve won, it brings back memories even though it’s a different golf course.”
