AT&T Bryson Nelson Preview: How to watch it in the UK, and who to back
The PGA Tour heads back to Dallas, Texas this week for the AT&T Byron Nelson and back to Trinity Forest GC for the second time.
Last year, after a four-hour rain delay, Aaron Wise beat out Marc Leishman by three shots on the 50th anniversary of the event as he set a record of 23-under-par – smashing the previous tournament record by four shots.
Both men return for this year’s contest, which due to the new schedule now directly precedes the PGA Championship next week.
Below, find out how to watch, and who to back.

Byron Nelson: Betting Tips
Brooks Koepka: 15/2
Koepka is making his first start since rebounding from three uncharacteristic performances (MC-T56-T56) to finishing runner-up to Tiger Woods at the Masters, which was his third top 10 of the year. Was T50 the last time he played this event in 2017, but was runner-up the previous year and T16 in 2015. Ranks inside the top 30 for scoring average, birdie average and GIR.
Hideki Matsuyama: 18/1
Matsuyama has been incredibly consistent of late, with three top 10s and no worse than T33 in his last eight starts, and is searching for his first win since the WGC Bridgestone in 2017. He was T16 here last year, and ranks 3rd SG: Tee to green, 6th SG: Approach the green, 15th SG: Around the green and 18th for scoring average.
Aaron Wise: 20/1
The defending champion won on his debut last year and comes in to this week’s event with back-to-back top 20s at the Masters and Wells Fargo Championship. Ranks 6th for birdie average on the PGA Tour this season and 19th SG: Off the tee.
Jordan Spieth: 22/1
I keep putting him in our tips because surely a turnaround is coming? Spieth continues to perform well in the first two rounds (excusing the Masters) and ranks 3rd for round-2 scoring, but his real problem is ranking 202nd and 207th in scoring over the weekend. Scrambled to a T21 at the Masters, which was also his result here last year – with a best result in this event of T18 here in 2016. Ranks 8th for putting average and 26th for birdie average.
Marc Leishman: 25/1
Last year’s runner-up was T13 in 2017 so clearly feels comfortable at this event, no matter the course. Posted disappointing T49-T58 results in his last two starts but has five top 10s and a victory this season on the PGA Tour – the lastest coming at the WGC Dell Match Play. Ranks 16th SG: Approach the green and inside the top 35 on tour for both birdie average and scoring average.
Keith Mitchell: 33/1
Picked up the first win of his career at the Honda Classic, finished T6 at the APInv and despite a slight dip in form afterwards, he was T8 at last week’s Wells Fargo Championship. Given that he was T3 here last year, he’s a really good bet at 33/1. Ranks 11th SG: Off the tee, 25th SG: Tee to green and 39th for birdie average.
Kevin Na: 35/1
Struggled at the start of the year because of a broken finger, but Na finished T6 here last year and has two top 10s in his last three starts on Tour. Ranks 13th SG: Around the green.
Rory Sabbatini: 45/1
Hasn’t finished outside the top 36 anywhere in his last eight starts, and was T10 at the RBC Heritage a couple of weeks ago. T13 here last year, winner of the tournament in 2009.
Scottie Scheffler: 50/1
Teeing up here for the first time, but don’t be surprised if you see Scheffler in contention: He’s local, finished inside the top-10 in each of his last four Web.Com starts, and T20 at the Valero Texas Open.
Lucas Bjerregaard: 60/1
The World No.42 is teeing up for the first time since a T21 at the Masters, and has enjoyed a lot of success already on the PGA Tour this season, including beating out Tiger Woods in the WGC Dell Match Play on his way to finishing 4th, as well as a T12 at the Honda Classic and a T30 at the Players. First start .
Seamus Power: 80/1
Followed up a T6 at the RBC Heritage with a T13 at last week’s Wells Fargo Championship so clearly playing well, with the only reservation being that in two starts in this event he’s gone T57-MC. Best stat is 40th for SG: Around the green.
Adam Schenk: 100/1
Finished T13 last week and posted his first top 10 of the year at the Valero Texas Open, and has three other top-33s in his last eight starts.. Ranks 3rd for total birdies, 27th SG: Putting and 31st SG: Approach the green this season. T59 last year.
