PGA Tour rookie Matthew Wolff signs with TaylorMade

Matthew Wolff signs with TaylorMade ahead of his professional debut at the Travelers Championship

Prestigious college golfer and PGA Tour rookie Matthew Wolff has already made a name for himself with his unusual swing and big distance, and is now embarking on his first start as a professional this week.

He’ll do it as an official TaylorMade player, having signed a new-multi year agreement to play metalwoods, irons, wedges, putter and ultimately, the company’s flagship golf ball, TP5x.

Wolff, who was the consensus collegiate player of the year, made his debut as an amatuer at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier in the year and has decided to leave Oklahoma state two years early to turn professional.

The young American looks primed for success, coming out on Tour after capping off his career with an NCAA Individual title and both the Jack Nicklaus and Fred Haskins awards, given annually to the top collegiate player in the country. His scoring average last year was 68.7 – the lowest in the history of college golf.

And now, Wolff joins a staff list that includes Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Jon Rahm and Tiger Woods.
