The Open: How to watch
Last updated:
Sky Sports will be your home for live coverage of this year’s Open at Royal Portrush – and there’s more live golf and shows to enjoy than ever before.
A new dedicated channel, Sky Sports The Open, will show the first tee shot live on each of the four tournament days, and you won’t miss a minute thereafter with 15 hours of live coverage getting underway from 6.30am during the first two rounds.
The action continues at 9am on Saturday and then 8am for Sunday’s final round. Featured groups will be shown, both in the morning and afternoon, across all four tournament days via the red button.
One of Thursday’s group will also be streamed for free via SkySports.com and the app, and the best bit is that you can vote for which threeball you’d like to watch via the Sky Sports website.
If you do miss anything, tune into The Verdict for the best of each day’s play after every round. A special round up show, ‘How The Open Was Won’, airs on Monday July 22 and will let you relive all the key moments.
But before all that, you can enjoy a 90-minute build-up show on Tuesday afternoon, followed by a new episode of Nick Dougherty’s Tee Time Tips Show at 5.30pm.
Dougherty will then present a bumper three-hour Open preview show on Wednesday afternoon, which will include live coverage of the practice rounds.
You can watch it all on Sky Sports but if you’re not already a subscriber, Now TV is your best option. You can choose from a week pass for £12.99 or a day pass from £8.99.
