The European Tour heads to Sweden this week for the Scandinavian Invitation: Here’s how to watch, and who to back 

While the PGA Tour’s final event of the season takes place in Atlanta this week, the European Tour heads for Sweden with plenty of tournaments still on the calendar before the season finale in Dubai in November.

Home favourites Henrik Stenson and Alex Noren headline the field as the Scandinavian Invitation (formerly Nordea Masters) takes place at Hill Golf & Sports Club for a second time. 

Last year, Paul Waring claimed his maiden European Tour victory on his 200th career start, besting South Africa’s Thomas Aiken in a playoff.

Scandinavian Invitation: Betting Tips

Henrik Stenson: 8/1
Posted three top 10s in a row from the RBC Canadian Open to Scottish Open before a T20 at Royal Portrush and T27 at the WGC FedEx St Jude Invitational. Two top 5s in his last four starts in this event, although that was at different courses to this one.  Ranks 7^th SG: Approach ,14^th stroke average and 19^th driving accuracy

Matthew Fitzpatrick: 8/1
Fitzpatrick claimed the Nordea Masters in 2016 at Bro Hof Slott before a runner-up finish a year later at Barseback, but didn’t play last year. Heads to Sweden following a T4 at the WGGC FedEx St Jude, which came after a T14 at the Scottish Open and T20 at The Open. Two runer up finishes in 2019. Ranks 2^nd scoring average, 10^th for birdies, 12^th driving accuracy,  and 19^th SG: Tee to green on the European Tour this season.

Alex Noren: 12/1
Noren hasn’t finished worse than T15 in five starts at the Scandinavian Masters, which includes a victory in 2015 on PGA Sweden National. He also won in 2011 at Bro Hoff Slot. Was T60 in his last start at the Wyndham Championship but T11 at The Open and T12 in Memphis before that. Best stat is 25^th for SG: Around the green on the PGA Tour. 

Erik Van Rooyen: 16/1
T5 at the D+D Real Czech Masters last week – one of five top 10s on the European Tour this season – which followed a T20 at The Open and T14 at The Renaissance. Scandinavian Masters debut. Ranks 8^th for birdies and 31^st for both SG: Off the tee and SG: Putting. 

Andrea Pavan: 18/1
Pavan, who was tied for 3^rd last week in Prague, has two top 4s in his last four starts on Tour, and claimed his second Tour title at the BMW International Open back in June. Returns to Hills Golf Club after a T6 finish last year. Ranks 18^th GIR.

Thomas Detry: 30/1
Hasn’t played since a T43 at the Scottish Open, but posted a T8 – his best finish of the year – a couple of weeks before at the Andalucia Masters. He finished T13 here in 2018, and ranks 16^th SG: Approach, 17^th for birdies, 23^rd for SG: Putting and 30^th for stroke average

Adri Arnaus: 33/1
The World No.105 and European Tour rookie has two runner-up finishes to his name in his last four starts (three total in 2019), the latest of which came at last week’s D+D Real Czech Masters. Making his debut this week. Ranks 3^rd SG: Off the tee, 7^th GIR and 14^th SG: Tee to green. 

Robert MacIntyre: 35/1
T23 last week after impressing with a T6 at The Open. Had back-to-back runner-up finishes earlier this season. Making his debut this week. Ranks 17^th SG: Approach, 26^th SG: Off the tee, 27^th Stroke average and 31^st GIR.

Hadyn Porteous: 45/1
Followed up a T9 on the Sunshine Tour’s Royal Swazi Spa Challenge with a T11 in Prague, and returns to Hills Golf Club following a T6 last year. Ranks 35^th SG: Off the tee.

Edoardo Molinari: 50/1
Molinari, who was T14 last week after holding the 36-hole lead, hasn’t finished worse than T34 in his last six starts – which includes top 10s at both the BMW International Open (T3) and Dubai Duty Free Irish Open (T9). T68 last year and a best finish in this event of T3 back when it was played at Bro Hoff Slot in 2010. Ranks 21^st SG: Around the green and 31^st for Driving accuracy.
