The European Tour is in Switzerland for the Omega European Masters this week: Find out who to back and how to watch

FedEx Cup Champion headlines a strong field at Crans Sur Sierre this week for the Omega European Masters, where Matt Fitzpatrick is looking to add a third consecutive title to his name.

Fitzpatrick , who finished second last week to Erik Van Rooyen in Sweden, beat out Lucas Bjerregaard in a playoff to last year’s title. Both players return to one of the most popular events on Tour, along with several of Europe’s Ryder Cup stars, including McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia and Alex Noren.

Omega European Masters: Betting Tips

Rory McIlroy: 4/1
After a marathon Sunday and victory at the Tour Championship, McIlroy returns to Crans-sur-Sierre for the third time, having posted top 10s in both previous occasions. Fatigue may be a factor this week, but he has just recorded his 14th top 10 from 19 starts this year, proving his most consistent season to date. He finished the 2019 PGA Tour season ranked 1st for scoring average, SG: Off the tee and SG: Tee to green, as well as 2nd for birdie average and 12th for SG: Approach.

Matthew Fitzpatrick: 8/1
Not only is Fitzpatrick the two-time defending champion this week, but he missed out by a shot last week in Sweden, and heads to Switzerland after two top 10s and two top 20s in a row. Ranks 1st scoring average, 3rd SG: Putting, 4th for birdies, 9th driving accuracy, and 19th SG: Tee to green on the European Tour this season.

Tommy Fleetwood: 10/1
Fleetwood finished T16 in last week’s Tour Championship, which was his second top 20 in a row in America after a runner-up finish at The Open and T4 at the WGC FedEx St Jude. Hasn’t performed well here the last few years but was T5 in 2014. Ranks 8th for scoring average and inside the top 15 this season on the PGA Tour for SG: Off the tee, SG: Around the green and SG: Tee to green.

Erik Van Rooyen: 22/1
Van Rooyen had been knocking on the door of a victory for months before his breakthrough win last week, which was his sixth top 10 of the year. He was T35 on his debut here last year, and ranks 21st scoring average, 5th for birdies and 20th for SG: Putting on the European Tour.

Bernd Wiesberger: 33/1
After making a successful return from a wrist injury, Wiesberger has won twice this year – at both the Made in Denmark and ASI Scottish Open. Since his last win has recorded a T32 at The Open and T30 at the D+D Real Czech Masters. Best result here a T6 in 2012, but missed the cut in his last outing in 2017. Ranks 5th GIR.

Mike Lorenzo Vera: 35/1
Before his missed cut at The Open, Lorenzo Vera had posted three top 10s and a T16 in five starts – and this year alone has had finished twice a runner-up. Still searching for his maiden win, and was 3rd here in 2018. Ranks 22nd scoring average, 18th SG: Around the green, 34th SG: Putting

Andrea Pavan: 40/1
Pavan picked up his second European Tour win at the BMW International earlier this year, and has since had a mixture of MC’s and top 20s, finishing inside the top 4 in both Scotland and Prague before a T16 last week – and he’ll be hoping to continue that renewed form here. MC last year. Ranks 18th GIR.

Andrew Johnston: 60/1
Beef finished T4 at the Scottish Open, and recorded his second top 10 in three starts last week in Sweden in his first start since a MC at The Open, hinting at his return to form after a difficult two years. Ranks 25th GIR, 30th SG: Tee to green and 37th for scoring average on the European Tour this season.

Sam Horsfield: 80/1
Horsfield is a player on form, and with back-to-back top 10s at the Czech Masters and Scandinavian Invitational, he’s definitely worth a look this week – despite missing the cut on his debut here last year. Ranks 11th for birdies, 25th for scoring average and 26th SG: Off the tee
