Henrik Stenson ‘hoping to be fit’ for The Open

Henrik Stenson has withdrawn from the Scottish Open field this week with an elbow injury, but is hopeful he will be able to play at Carnoustie next week

Henrik Stenson followed Tommy Fleetwood and Alex Noren in withdrawing from the Scottish Open on Monday, announcing that he was suffering elbow problems.

The 2016 Open champion then took to social media to announce that he is ‘hoping to be fit for Carnoustie’, where the 147th Open Championship takes place next week.

So far in 2018, Stenson has finished inside the top 10 in six of his 11 starts, including T5 at the Masters and T6 in the US Open.
