The top 10 shots from the 2018 Masters

With plenty of storylines came plenty of outrageously good shots at the 82nd edition of the masters: Watch below for the round up of the top 10 shots of the 2018 Masters
➤ Charley Hoffman stole a brief bit of the Sunday limelight on the 16th hole of Augusta as he made the only hole in one of the tournament – and the celebration was every bit as good as the shot.
➤ Jordan Spieth grabbed plenty of the attention as he came back from 9 shots behind to briefly hold the lead on Sunday as he shot a final round 64. One of the shots of the day came from him on the 13th to set up a chance for eagle.
➤ Phil Mickelson’s driver off the deck to set up his eagle was on of the standouts of the week on the 8th hole during Round 3.
➤ Bubba put on his best display of physics defying golf during the second round as he faded a shot from the right-hand pine trees on to the 11th green.
➤ Rory McIlroy chipped in for eagle on the 8th hole during the 3rd round to get to 5 under through 8 on his way to setting up a Sunday pairing with eventual champion Patrick Reed.
➤ Marc Leishman went for the 15th green in two to set up an eagle during the 2nd round which would put him to -7 and just two shots back of Patrick Reed heading in to the weekend.
➤ Oh and here’s two back to back eagles from Webb Simpson on the 7th and 8th holes at Augusta during the fourth round on Sunday – the one on 7 is particularly good!
➤ Low amateur Doug Ghim was the only amateur in the field to make the cut, and he posted several eagles along the way. None were as impressive as a walk-off eagle on the 18th hole during the first round.
➤ There were plenty of impressive puts, but Russell Henley takes the honours with this 82-foot eagle putt on the 15th hole during the second round.
➤ Seeing double. Both Rickie Fowler (2nd round) AND Jason Day (4th round) holed 66 footers on the 6th hole! I know we said top 10, but given it’s the same distance, and the same hole, count this as an added bonus
And the good turned bad…
Sergio Garcia’s Masters destroying 13 on the 15th hole at Augusta National was by far the most painful thing (except maybe Tony Finau dislocating his ankle during the par 3) at the 2018 Masters. He saw five golf balls find the water on the ‘Firethorn’ hole, the hole he eagled in 2017 on his way to winning his green jacket.
Tony Finau was one of the most interesting stories of the week during his Masters debut, finishing an impressive T10 at -7. But at one stage, we weren’t even sure if he’d play at all. Finau had a hole in one during the Masters Par 3 contest, but dislocated his ankle (and then popped it back in again despite never doing it before) and had to go for an Xray and an MRI. He was cleared to play, and although he wasn’t able to put as much pressure on his ankle as normal, he still managed a top 10 in the first major of the year.
Watch the video below, but beware- it is quite gruesome!
