The best shots from Round 2 of The Masters
Last updated:
There were some outrageously good shots in the second round of The Masters, from Bubba Watson’s impossible fade wizardy out of the pine straw to Marc Leishman’s eagle on 15 and an 82 foot putt from Russell Henley. Here, we round up the best of Round 2
Starting with arguably the most impressive shot of the day, Marc Leishman went for the 15th green in two to set up an eagle which would put him to -7 and just two shots back of Patrick Reed heading in to the weekend.
The 11th hole was a scene for remarkably shots on Friday, with both Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods hitting huge fades around the trees to reach the green in two. We’ll let you decide which was best.
Not all of the action came from the middle of the hole, shown by these two monster putts from Russell Henley and Rickie Fowler. Fowler holed his 66 footer for par, while Henley outdid that by a further 16 feet for eagle on 15.
Justin Thomas recovered from a 74 in round one to shoot an impressive five-under 67 – and he was helped by these chip ins for birdies on 6 and 14.
And Thomas wasn’t the only one who managed to find the bottom of the cup from off the green on Friday. Henrik Stenson, who is currently tied third, chipped in on 11, while Jhonattan Vegas waited until the final hole of the day to make some magic of his own.
