There was plenty of impressive golf on display during round 1 of The Masters – we round up the best shots of the day!
From hole out eagles to pin-seeking tee shots and impressive long putts, we recap the best shots of the day – from Jordan Spieth and Louis Oosthuizen to Sandy Lyle and the group of Fowler, Mickelson and Kuchar.
The U.S. Amateur runner-up Doug Ghim grabbed headlines early on Thursday with not one but two eagles on his Masters debut, making the first eagle of the day with a putt on 13, before following up a walk-off eagle with his final shot of the day on 18.
Watch the shots below!
Jordan Spieth set his round in motion with an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole, before going on to make five birdies in a row from 13-17 to put himself three ahead of the chasing pack.
It’s probably the best putt you’ll see today, as Louis Oosthuizen expertly reads this tricky break to make the 30 foot birdie on 16.
Sandy Lyle rolled back the years early on to card the second eagle of the day with a big putt of his own!
Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar put on a group display on the par-3 16th, carding three birdie two’s thanks to these three pin-seeking shots!
Meanwhile, Masters Champion Fred Couples showed he still has it with this hole out bunker shot…
And last, but by no means least, Jason Day managing to land his ball in some guy’s beer!
