Fantasy Golf: Omega European Masters

This week, the European Tour heads to the beautiful backdrop of the Swiss mountains for the Omega European Masters – while the PGA Tour has a week off.

There’s one of the European Tour’s strongest fields out this week, with two former world number one’s (Lee Westwood and Luke Donald), and several of England’s top young talents in Tommy Fleetwood, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Tyrrell Hatton.

Alex Noren tees up as defending champion after holding off Scott Hend to win by a single shot last year, which marked the second of the five titles he has won in the past year.

Noren is undoubtedly on form, but who else should you be backing in your fantasy team this week?

Note: We only focus on those in our Fantasy Game, but if you’re looking for a good bet this week – we’d definitely be backing Tom Lewis. His last three results? T3, T49, T9

Fantasy Golf: Omega European Masters Picks

Prices in ascending order

Alex Noren: Fantasy Price £13m
The 2017 BMW PGA Champion at Wentworth has had a lot of success in the past year, and comes to the Omega European Masters as defending champion. Noren is the current World No.13, and having also won this tournament in 2009. He’s had a bit of a mixed bag of results recently, with a victory, three other top 10s and two missed cuts in his last 10 events – but he’s certainly not one to overlook.

Lee WestwoodFantasy Price £11m
Westy finished in the top 10 last week, and could well be ready to get himself back in contention this week. It’s perhaps a bit of a riskier bet, so we’ll let you judge. His last nine events? T9-T67-T47-T27-MC-T10-T55-T15-T14

Tommy Fleetwood: Fantasy Price £10.5m
With the exception of a T61 in his last competitive event, Fleetwood has been incredibly impressive in 2017. He’s had two victories this year, is currently leading the Race to Dubai an is the current World No.16. In his last 11 events he’s had five top 10s, a victory, two further top 30s and missed a single cut.

Thorbjorn Olesen: Fantasy Price £9m
Olesen was in contention a couple of weeks ago after the third round of the Made in Denmark event, but the Dane had a disappointing final day. His last two victories came in team events (GolfSixes and World Cup of Golf), with his last win on Tour being the Turkish Airlines Open in November 2016 . His last three starts? T14, T44, T10.

James Morrison: Fantasy Price £7.5m
Morrison had a hot streak earlier this year before running a bit cold, but a T5 last week would suggest he’s regained his form. He’s had three top 10s and three further top 20s in 2017.

Rikard Karlberg: Fantasy Price £7m
Despite a WD last week at the D+D Czech Masters, Karlberg was trending in the right direction. Prior to that he’d had two consecutive top 20, and a 5th place finish at the BMW International Open.

Richie RamsayFantasy Price £6m
Ramsay is low fantasy value but is playing very consistently at the moment. He finished 2nd at the Irish Open, and hasn’t finished worse than T35 in his last five events.

Matteo Manassero: Fantasy Price £5.5m
We’ll admit it, it’s definitely a risk – but Manassero followed four missed cuts in five events with a T9 last week, so that’s got to count for something.

Haydn Porteous: Fantasy Price £5m
Last week’s winner may be unlikely to strike twice in the space of two weeks, but he’s been in good form for his past few events. Preceding his second European Tour victory was a T6 at the European Open, a T17 at the ifhoaihg and a T11 at the haoidhgdi, so he’s bound to be up there.
