Bryan will be battling for bigger cheques on the PGA Tour

Only a month ago we brought you the exciting news that Wesley Bryan, one half of golf’s leading trickshot duo the Bryan Bros, was well on his way to earning a PGA Tour card for next season. 

We weren’t wrong. 

The 26-year-old won the El Bosque Mexico Championship yesterday, his second win in just six starts – and this is his debut season on the Web.com Tour!

Bryan, who sits at the top of the Web.com money list, has already done enough to guarantee a PGA Tour card for next season. If he can pick up a third win, which, let’s face it, looks very possible, he’ll earn an immediate promotion to the PGA Tour and be entitled to play in any remaining events this season. 

“It feels amazing,” says Bryan. “To wrap it up this early in the season is incredible. I know there’s still work to be done. I know another win gets me straight out there. I’m going to put my head down starting next week and get back to work.”

Bryan found fame on YouTube for hitting ridiculous shots, but has already shown a composed head when it comes to competitive golf. 

“My distance control was great, but I would attribute it most to having a good game plan,” he said after his four-shot victory. “I stuck to it, and I probably was the most conservative player out there off the tee, or one of them.”

Interestingly, Bryan’s scoring average so far this season is 68.6, a full shot better than Adam Scott, who boasts the best scoring average on the PGA Tour this season. Clearly, there’s only so much to be gleaned by comparing Web.com scoring against the PGA Tour, but so far there’s nothing to suggest that Wesley Bryan will struggle to make the step up to the big leagues.
