Lukas Nemecz
Lukas Nemecz was absolutely cruising his way to a European Tour card until a fourth-round 80 looked to have destroyed all his good work, leaving him in grave danger of missing out. It’s testament to his character that he regrouped to fire back with solid rounds of 72 and 71, finishing 7-under, which was just enough to squeeze into the top-25 plus ties.
Nemecz is an 11-time national champion in Austria, was 2009 Vice European Champion, and was best amateur at the 2010 Lyoness Open.
His world ranking is currently 1658 (we didn’t even know they went down that far), but you can expect that to improve considerably next year.
