Open at last gets underway at St Andrews

The Open is back and up and running again – at long last. Play resumed at 6pm and all being well the much delayed 2nd round will be completed this evening.

The high winds which have been buffeting St Andrews all day finally relented much to the relief of the R&A, the players and of course the patient fans who had flocked to the Home of Golf to see some quality action, only to be cruelly denied by the elements.

The plan: the 2nd round to be completed this evening with the 3rd round being played tomorrow and the final round on Monday when the Daily Tickets will be £10 for all spectators.  Under-16s, accompanied by an adult, will be admitted free of charge, in line with normal policy.  Weekly Tickets are valid for Monday.

Meanwhile, the fans who purchased Daily Tickets for today will be eligible for a 60% refund.  Official Car and Coach Parking will be fully refunded.
