The only players to have made the cut in every men’s major in 2024 – and who has the longest streak?
Last updated:
Only 13 players have made the weekend at all four of 2024’s biggest tournaments. After the halfway cut at Royal Troon’s Open, we identify the year’s most consistent players in majors and see who has the longest streak of major cuts made.
Winning a major is hard, but making the cut in one isn’t exactly a walk in the park either. Just ask the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau, who were among the big names who missed the cut in the 152nd Open at Royal Troon.
In fact, only 13 players have made the cut at all four of 2024’s major championships – the Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open. They include some names you would expect, like world number one Scottie Scheffler and the super-consistent Xander Schauffele, plus one or two you might be surprised by.
Players to make every major cut in 2024
- Patrick Cantlay (USA)
- Corey Conners (CAN)
- Harris English (USA)
- Ryan Fox (NZ)
- Russell Henley (USA)
- Nicolai Hojgaard (DEN)\
- Brooks Koepka (USA)
- Shane Lowry (IRE)
- Hideki Matsuyama (JAP)
- Collin Morikawa (USA)
- Xander Schauffele (USA)
- Scottie Scheffler (USA)
- Cameron Young (USA)
Of the 13, Hideki Matsuyama’s record is the most impressive. He’s made the cut in all four majors for the last three seasons running. In fact, he hasn’t missed a major cut for the last five seasons, dating right back to the 2019 Open. He did however miss the 2021 Open at Royal St George’s after testing positive for Covid and there was no Open in 2020 due to the pandemic, but he has made the cut in his last 18 major starts.
Tyrrell Hatton would have joined Matsuyama in having made every major cut in the last three seasons but bogeyed two of his last three holes on Friday to miss the cut by two shot. That meant the Englishman’s first missed cut at a major since the 2021 Open at Royal St George’s, ending his streak of 11 major cuts made.
Longest current streak of major championship cuts made

Patrick Reed | 10 | 2021 Open Championship |
Patrick Cantlay | 10 | 2022 PGA Championship |
Scottie Scheffler | 10 | 2022 PGA Championship |
Ryan Fox | 8 | 2022 Open Championship |
Brooks Koepka | 8 | 2022 Open Championship |
Nicolai Hojgaard | 6 | 2022 PGA Championship |
Cameron Young | 6 | 2023 PGA Championship |
Corey Conners | 5 | 2023 US Open |
Harris English | 4 | 2023 Open Championship |
Russell Henley | 4 | 2023 Open Championship |
Shane Lowry | 4 | 2023 Open Championship |
Collin Morikawa | 4 | 2023 Open Championship |
Longest ever streak of major championship cuts made
Matsuyama still has a way to go to match golf’s two greatest players, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, who share the record for most consecutive major cuts made with 39 in a row.
