Bryson DeChambeau is designing a driver for you with LA Golf

Bryson DeChambeau is known for his unique setup in the world of golf equipment and now, with the backing of LA Golf, he’s moving directly into the world of club design
Whenever Bryson does something with his bag, the golfing community takes notice. His requests have, at times, caused headaches for his previous sponsors with what he demands of his clubs.
‘Demands’ is the apt word here because, when you hit the ball the way Bryson does, there can be no room for compromise in how you prepare for the golf course.
During a press conference at Royal Troon on Tuesday, Today’s Golfer asked whether Bryson saw a future for himself in club design or if he’d like to see more of his equipment in the hands of amateur golfers.
“Would I like to see it more in play around the world and across different amateurs, different levels? Absolutely. That’s the main goal. It’s not just going to be unique to me.”
An interesting reply from the long hitter. Certainly, there are many of his fans clamoring for the chance to try Bryson’s setup and see the benefits for themselves. So what clubs could he envision making a transition from his collection into the bags of weekend warriors? We fans can already buy his putter, shafts, and grips so what does DeChambeau think is important?
“…building a golf piece of equipment that works for that individual is incredibly important, and that’s what I’ve personally realized, and I hope to transition over to the public golfer.” he said, at The Open.
“You might be seeing something later today or tomorrow on that. I’ll give you more when I can. Certainly we’re working on some things.”
Within a few hours of this statement LA Golf, the manufacturers of Bryson’s golf shafts, released a statement on social media teasing this latest collaboration. No strangers to shaking up the golf industry with very out-of-the-box design, this will not be the first venture into club design for LA, but it will be their first full swing model.
Bryson has spent the year playing a Krank Fire driver with incredible success, including his second US Open win at Pinehurst No.2 course, as well as close finishes at The Masters and The PGA Championship.
With a tease of 2025 for this new driver model, one billed as “the first driver ever where the face and shaft fit your swing”, LA Golf and Bryson will be looking to make a serious statement in a market already packed with performance.
Only the new year will tell us if this latest creation will prove to be a winner with the public but I definitely can’t wait to see what’s been going on behind closed doors come early 2025.
