Last updated:

It started with 288 players across four venues and it ended with just 20. Here’s the full rundown of Open Final Qualifying results…
It’s billed as the longest day in golf, and some huge names fell at the Final Qualifying stage.
But who did come through to book a spot in the field for the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush?

Here are the scores from around the UK – including a quite remarkable finish at West Lancs…

The only Open Final Qualifying leaderboard not topped by a LIV golfer was on the Somerset coast where South African Justin Walters earned a return to The Open for the first time since 2014.
Meanwhile, PGA Tour winner Harry Hall – who grew up playing West Cornwall Golf Club a couple of hours down the road – will make his Open debut thanks to a pair of 67s.
And reigning Amateur champion Jacob Skov Olesen, who forfeited his spot in the field after turning pro, will go to Portrush after all.
1. Justin Walters -9 (65-68)
T2. Jacob Skov Olesen -8 (65-69)
T2. Harry Hall -8 (67-67)
4. Frazer Jones (a) -7 (69-66)
5. OJ Farrell -6 (68-68)
Dundonald
Lee Westwood will play in his first Open since the 150th at St Andrews. The Majesticks co-captain, who has 27 wins across the European and PGA Tours as well as 11 Ryder Cup appearances, has five top-four finishes at The Open – including a T4 at Royal Portrush in 2019.
Meanwhile, teenage amateur Connor Graham overcame fellow Scot Paul O’Hara in a two-for-one playoff.
1. Lee Westwood -7 (70-67)
T2. Daniel Young -6 (71-67)
T2. Angel Hidalgo -6 (71-67)
4. Jesper Sandborg -5 (68-71)
5. Connor Graham (a) -4 (71-69)
Royal Cinq Ports
Dean Burmester is having something of a purple patch. The Stinger GC star, who is 11th in LIV’s season long standings, also has a surprisingly good Open record, with a T40, T11 and T19 in his three appearances to date. He’ll now get a chance to improve on that in Northern Ireland after equalling the course record at the two-time Open venue in Kent.
He said: “That’s one of the best rounds of golf I’ve played. It was just flawless from the get-go this afternoon.
“Basically from the first hole it looked like every putt was going to go in, and that’s pretty much what happened for the next 17 holes.
“I’m super chuffed with the way it’s turned out. It was a goal of mine to get to Portrush. Now I’ve got to find some accommodation!”
And a fun fact about fellow qualifier Nathan Kimsey – his girlfriend Lauren Taylor won the 2011 Women’s Amateur Championship… at Royal Portrush!
1. Dean Burmester -10 (70-64)
T2. Curtis Knipes -6 (69-69)
T2. Nathan Kimsey -6 (69-69)
4. Sebastian Cave (a) -5 (67-72)
5. John Axelson -4 (70-70)
West Lancashire
Lucas Herbert wasn’t far off earning a spot in The Open via the LIV Golf before being edged out by Sergio Garcia. It didn’t matter, though, as the Ripper GC player caught the red eye from Texas to Lancashire and rattled off a tidy 136 to book a fifth Open appearance.
There was a four-man playoff for the final two spots. Amateur Richard Teder looked to have a spot sealed before a double-bogey at the 36th hole. But he then eagled the first extra hole and will become the first Estonian to ever play in The Open.
Finn Oliver Lindell took the other spot, with Sam Bairstow and Ronan Mullarney the pair that missed out.
1. Lucas Herbert -8 (69-67)
2. Sampson Zheng -7 (68-69)
3. George Bloor -6 (69-69)
T4. Richard Teder (a) -5 (70-69)
T4. Oliver Lindell -5 (67-72)
